After years of singing with African musical royalty (Salif Keita, Ali Farke Toure, Amadou & Mariam, Manu Dibango) and co-leading the Ivory Coast sensation, Les Go de Koteba, Awa Sangho is primed to take her place as a shining new African vocal star.

Known for a stunning voice and high-energy performances featuring her drumming and dancing, Awa first rose to fame as a co-leader of the legendary Ensemble Koteba and its successor - the unprecedented, women-led Les Go de Koteba, nominated for a 1998 Kora Award as “Best Group” (African equivalent of U.S. Grammy Award).
